Choose a name people can use

A name must work in a conversation, a small profile card, and a search box. Say candidate names aloud and ask a friend to type them after hearing them once. If spelling requires a long explanation, consider simplifying it. A memorable name does not need a string of decorative characters or a claim to be the largest community.

Start from your identity

List three qualities you want members to associate with the clan: patient teaching, exploration, coordinated challenges, relaxed company, or creative building. Combine an original image or place with a word that suggests that mood. Treat these as brainstorming directions, not claims that a particular name is available.

A friendly community might prefer a warm, approachable phrase; a coordinated group might choose something concise. Avoid branding so narrowly around one temporary activity that it feels misleading when your interests change.

Check confusion and permissions

Search the proposed name across the game and the public channels where you will recruit. Look for existing clans, organizations, creators, or products that a reader could mistake you for. Use original language and artwork rather than copying another group’s identity. Official support requires an available name and applies the game’s naming rules; website availability alone does not reserve an in-game name.

Keep changes understandable

Agree on spelling, capitalization, and a short version before creating profiles. If you later rename, tell members and update the in-game identity, Discord information, and directory listing together. Keep useful context for people who knew the old name without creating duplicate entries to occupy more directory space.
